This gives a brief summary of a workflow for a facility that requires multiple reads. For example, a facility requires both a preliminary and a final report.
Facilities can be configured to allow multiple read types. If a facility, has been configured to allow multiple read types, a radiologist may be limited to the type of reads that he or she is allowed to complete for a primary report. For example, one radiologist may be limited to only completing a preliminary read, while another radiologist may be allowed to complete either a preliminary or final read. A facility may also be configured to use different default reporting templates based on the read that is being performed. Different Report templates can be configured to only allow various read types. When configuring default report templates when managing a facility or entering a report the report template selection will be restricted to only those reporting templates that allow the read type.
Configuration
Managing a facility gives the option to configure multiple read types
When a facility allows for multiple read types, managing a user allows limiting the reads that user may complete
Templates may be configured to only be used for specific read types.
Searching for cases that need a final report
Radiologists that need to complete a final read when a preliminary read has already been completed can filter their worklist to show only cases that already have a preliminary primary report.
Reporting cases with multiple reads
When a radiologist that may complete a final report locks the case that has a preliminary report but requires a final report they will be prompted to verify if he or she is entering a final report or making a change or an addenda. Click the "Enter final report" button to enter a final report.
Ont the report entry window , only the radiologist that authored the current primary report may change the type of read for the report. Other interpreting physicians would need to check the "replace main report" to configure a different read type. The list of reporting templates that are available may be restricted by the selected read type.
Users that may only draft a report (radiology assistants, transcriptionists) will have access to all read types that the facility allows. They may preselect the read type for the interpreting physician so that the read type will be properly filled out when the radiologist finalizes the report.
Billing
Billing for additional read types can be completed using the data analysis report generation. Selecting the "Include data for last report of each read type" checkbox will export a separate row for each primary read type that was completed.
