OnePacs can receive HL7 orders (ORM) from an external system such as a RIS, PACS, or EMR.  These orders contain patient demographic information, procedure codes, and scheduling information.  OnePacs can use inbound orders for any combination of the following:

• Supplementing the ORU results message with additional information - Order information is retained by the OnePacs Gateway and used to supplement the result (ORU) messages sent by OnePacs.
• Confirmation of DICOM studies - Orders can be used to confirm a DICOM study for interpretation.  Information such as patient history, ordering physician, procedure codes can be extracted from the order and associated with the study record in OnePacs.
• Triggering the pre-fetching of prior exams
• Modality Worklist Broker
